The Full Story
"Yup thats me, you probably wonder how i got here"
Marsupial Solutions LLC was founded with the mission to develop educational FPGA systems tailored for high school students and homeschoolers. The core of this system was intended to revolve around the DE10-NANO and Heber Ltd.'s MiSTer Multisystem (MMS). However, the initial discussions faced a significant hurdle due to the MMS being out of stock, a situation exacerbated by a severe parts shortage.
Faced with these supply challenges, Koala Koa, a key figure in the project, decided that manufacturing the boards independently would be a better strategy than waiting for restocks from resellers. Yet, producing these boards in small quantities turned out to be prohibitively expensive, necessitating an order of at least 500 units to make the costs more manageable.
With the surplus boards, Marsupial Solutions saw an opportunity to create a premium MiSTer experience. This version was designed to highlight the best innovations the community had to offer, with a particular emphasis on open source development. Koala Koa collaborated with indie professionals to secure licensing agreements with several game development studios. Additionally, he formed partnerships with some of the most prominent names in retro gaming.
This community-driven project showcases nearly a decade of collective effort, bringing together the finest achievements in retro gaming and educational technology.
